Dental implants are tiny titanium posts that replace missing tooth roots. They are placed in your jawbone during a simple surgical procedure performed in the dentist office. Following the placement of the implant in your jawbone, a totally lifelike porcelain tooth crown is applied. In some circumstances, the implant must fuse with the bone for many months before it can be permanently crowned; in others, you can have new (temporary) teeth the same day your implants are put in.

Implants can be used to replace a single tooth, numerous teeth, or all of your teeth (View Examples). There is no need for one implant for each lost tooth. A removable lower denture can be supported by as few as two implants, while a full, permanent set of top or bottom teeth can be provided by as few as four implants.

Most people endure dental implant surgery extremely well. Over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen or OTC pain medicines can generally alleviate any postoperative discomfort. Ice can also be beneficial.

Implants are initially more costly than other tooth-replacement techniques such as dentures or bridgework. However, they survive far longer and should never need to be replaced. As a long-term investment in your health, comfort, and well-being, they provide the greatest, most cost-effective solution.

They require the same maintenance as real teeth, including daily brushing and flossing, as well as regular dental examinations and expert cleanings. Although implant teeth will never decay, the gum tissues around them might become irritated or infected if proper dental care is not followed. Dental implants that are properly maintained for should last a lifetime.

Implants are artificial tooth roots placed in the jawbone in order to restore the function and the aesthetics of the teeth that have been lost for various reasons. Teeth, which are physically an integral part of facial aesthetics, can cause discomfort in terms of psychological and social environment as a result of the losses experienced. Apart from these factors, it is observed that it also causes nutritional, digestive problems and speech disorders. Tooth deficiencies can be completed with conventional methods such as bridge prostheses attached to natural teeth or removable dentures, as well as with implant-supported prostheses.

    Single or More Tooth Deficiencies

As Optimum, if the missing tooth treatment is to be performed for a single tooth, it is recommended to be treated with an implant rather than restoring it with a bridge, as it will be more protective.

In order to apply a bridge prosthesis, healthy teeth need to be crowned as a result of filing down. Replacing these bridges at regular intervals is not an economical solution. Instead, with the implants placed in the missing tooth gap, the missing tooth can be treated without damaging the healthy teeth next to it.

      Total Edentulism

If there are no teeth left in the mouth, implant-supported dentures can provide the comfort that the person needs, since removable dentures are not used due to the nausea reflex and insufficient retention of the denture.

      Examination and Planning

Implants are performed with a multidisciplinary approach. It is a teamwork in which the surgeon places the implant in the jawbone and the prosthesis specialist applies the prosthesis over the implant.

The implant can be applied to anyone except people with certain systemic diseases such as uncontrolled diabetes. Since the implants are made of titanium and are positioned in place of the natural root of the tooth, they are tissue compatible and do not cause any allergic or toxic discomfort.

During the examination stage, the relation between the gums, lower jaw and upper jaw, and the relation between the teeth are examined with a detailed intraoral examination. In order to complete the treatment process with minimum error, apart from standard radiographs, three-dimensional (3D) tomography is requested in complicated cases to determine the exact measurement model of the jaw and to plan the areas where the implants will be placed.

      Placement of the Implants

The accurate planning process is the starting point of the healthiest treatment. In addition, the expert, experienced team, necessary equipment and necessary hygienic environment are the essentials in the operation to be performed. Implants are applied with local anesthesia like other dental treatments. However, in some cases where the jawbone is not sufficient and a tissue addition procedure called graft is required, in long operations or in extremely stressed patients, the operation can be performed comfortably under general anesthesia or sedation.

        Making the Prostheses

At the end of the operation, a period called osseointegration will start in which the implant will integrate to the bone surface. This process may differ depending on bone structure. After the process is complete, the superstructure is formed. After the operation, temporary prostheses are made for the continuation of aesthetics and function until the permanent prostheses are made.

I would like to share my views after about 3 months of treatment. First, I researched many countries and spoke to many clinics.
