How is Laminate Veneer Applied?
The patient must come for at least 3 sessions for a laminate application. At the first appointment, the control model is taken and evaluated. In the second session, teeth are filed down, and the measurements are taken. Finally, the bonding process is applied.
The first session in which the treatment is planned is very important. The kind of smile the patient desires should be evaluated very well, situations that may pose an obstacle to the teeth and mouth structure should be appropriately and meticulously explained to the patient and treatment options should be determined accordingly. The patient’s dental impressions are taken. Photographs of the patient’s teeth and face are recorded. The patient’s expectations, lifestyle and needs are determined. A model of the final state of the teeth is prepared when necessary.
How long does the Laminate Veneer Treatment take?
The second session in which the teeth will be filed down takes about 1 or 1.5 hours, depending on the number of teeth to be laminated. Approximately half a millimeter of abrasion is performed on the tooth under local anesthesia and the measurement is taken accordingly. Depending on the number of teeth, the preparation of the teeth may take up to 1 week. The bonding process takes about 2 hours. Firstly, the laminates are placed on the teeth before they are attached, and their color accordance and shape are checked. The color can be slightly changed with the adhesive. If everything is suitable for the patient’s desires, laminates are attached with special adhesives.

What are the Disadvantages of Laminated Veneers?
It requires good, precise laboratory and clinical work.
Very hard foods should not be broken with teeth. Despite the strength of the adhesive and the resistance of the laminates to abrasion, the teeth should not be broken by eating hard foods and the laminates should be protected.
If you have a habit of clenching or grinding your teeth, such as bruxism, you should inform your doctor.
You may experience sensitivity to hot and cold right after the teeth are bonded. This is normal and is a reversible sensitivity.
